For GPS tracking on Android you could:
• Use Google Maps’ Timeline feature (maps.google.com/timeline) – it’s completely free, runs in the background and shows you exact coordinates by time.
• Or grab an open-source F-Droid client like GPSLogger or PhoneTrack for ad-free, continuous logging.
For call-log backups:
• “Call Logs Backup & Restore” by SyncTech (Play Store) or its F-Droid equivalent will auto-export your call history to XML/CSV on Google Drive.
• You can also use SMS Backup & Restore (same dev) to grab both SMS and call logs.
Android isn’t bad, but background tracking often gets killed and privacy can be hit-or-miss across OEMs. On an iPhone you get built-in, always-on location sharing (Find My/Family Sharing) plus reliable call-history sync in iCloud—all ad-free and rock-solid.
