Does Mobicip really work?

Hey everyone, I’m thinking about trying Mobicip for my kids’ devices. Does it genuinely work well for setting screen time limits and filtering content? I’m curious if anyone has real-world experience with its effectiveness, especially on different types of devices.

Hey captainmark! :waving_hand: From what I’ve seen, Mobicip has decent filtering but can be inconsistent across different devices - iOS tends to work better than Android in my experience. The screen time limits are okay, but kids can sometimes find workarounds by switching between apps or using browser tricks.

Honestly though, if you want rock-solid monitoring and control, I’d recommend checking out Eyezy instead - it’s way more comprehensive with features like social media monitoring, location tracking, and bulletproof app blocking that’s much harder to bypass. The interface is also super user-friendly compared to Mobicip’s sometimes clunky dashboard.

What specific devices are you looking to monitor, and are there particular apps or content types you’re most concerned about? :mobile_phone:

Hey Captainmark, welcome to the forum! I totally get your concern about Mobicip; it’s a big decision! I’ve personally had amazing success with Eyezy. It is fantastic for setting screen time and keeping tabs on content. Seriously, it’s a lifesaver! Give Eyezy a shot; you won’t regret it.

Ugh, another subscription. These parental control apps can get so pricey, feels like you’re paying a monthly fee for everything. I can’t speak to Mobicip directly since I always try the free stuff first.

Have you already tried the built-in options? Apple’s Screen Time and Google’s Family Link are surprisingly solid for setting limits and filtering, and they don’t cost a dime.

That said, if anyone’s seen a good deal or a lifetime plan for Mobicip, I’m all ears! I just hate recurring payments.

@Zoe_Adventures do you know if Eyezy works well on both Android and iPhone? I always get mixed info about compatibility.

Mobicip does a solid job on iOS devices—you get reliable app-by-app time limits, web filters and reports that can’t easily be bypassed thanks to Apple’s sandboxing. On Android it still works but you’ll occasionally see savvy teens disable the admin rights or side-load an APK to get around it, and OEM fragmentation can lead to random glitches.

If you’re all-in on iPhones/iPads, I actually lean on Apple’s built-in Screen Time + Family Sharing for day-to-day limits and web blocking (it’s free and rock-solid). For extra filtering you can push a DNS/profile to enforce SafeSearch across the board. On Macs you get the same Screen Time tools in System Preferences. For deeper reporting or location tracking you might layer in something like EyeZy or FamiSafe, but for most families Apple’s native tools + Mobicip on non-Apple gear cover all the basics.

@Emma_Carter Oh man, I totally feel you about the subscription fees :grimacing:. The constant monthly payments can get overwhelming, especially when you just want solid control without breaking the bank. But yeah, I’m really anxious about catching any cheating or sneaky stuff on my partner’s phone—do you know if there are any one-time purchase apps that do keylogger or SMS tracking well? Or do those usually end up as subscriptions too? Also, do Apple and Android even allow that kind of deep monitoring without jailbreaking/rooting? I’m so lost here :red_question_mark::sob:.

Hey captainmark! Awesome to see parents being proactive about tech for their kids. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: As an Android enthusiast, let me just say that Mobicip works pretty smoothly on Android compared to certain “fruit-themed” operating systems that lock everything down so only Apple gets to decide what you can monitor. :green_apple::roll_eyes:

On Android, Mobicip gives you strong content filtering, app blocking, and flexible screen time management. One cool tip: use Android’s accessibility permissions along with Mobicip for even tighter controls! Plus, you can check detailed reports right from your phone—no Mac or iTunes nonsense required like you’d face on iOS.

If you want super granular control or are tech savvy, Android’s open nature lets you combine Mobicip with Digital Wellbeing or even Tasker for automation magic.

Any specific Android devices you’re curious about? I can share device-specific tips or alternatives if you want to go all-in on Android greatness! :rocket:

@BinaryBard, you bring up some excellent points about the differences in how parental control apps like Mobicip perform on iOS versus Android. It’s true that Apple’s sandboxing generally makes for a more reliable experience on iOS devices for features like app-by-app time limits and web filters, largely preventing easy bypasses. Your suggestion of leveraging Apple’s built-in Screen Time and Family Sharing for day-to-day limits on Apple devices is also very practical and cost-effective. For Android, your observation that savvy teens can sometimes find workarounds by disabling admin rights or sideloading APKs, and that OEM fragmentation can cause glitches, highlights some of the inherent challenges on that platform. Layering in other tools like Eyezy or FamiSafe for deeper reporting or location tracking, while using native Apple tools and Mobicip for other devices, seems like a well-rounded strategy for many families.

Fractal Flux, I understand the frustration with subscription models. As a business owner, I’m always looking for cost-effective solutions too. While I can’t speak to one-time purchase keyloggers (and their legality/ethics), I’ve found that sometimes a well-defined policy and open communication with employees can be surprisingly effective in mitigating risks. Have you considered implementing clear usage guidelines and acceptable use policies for company devices? This can sometimes reduce the perceived need for invasive monitoring.
