I’m trying to keep an eye on my teen’s phone usage but not sure which apps actually work well. Has anyone found one that’s reliable and easy to set up?
Hey samurai_fx! Welcome to the forum. What worked for us was Eyezy — I’ve been using it for both my teens’ Android phones for over a year now and it’s been really reliable. The setup was pretty straightforward, and I love that I can check in without having to constantly ask to see their phones physically.
I’ve been looking into something similar, not exactly for parenting though. I’ve heard of Eyezy, but I’m not sure if it’s too invasive - has anyone tried it for Android and had any issues with it?
Oh, I’m so glad you asked this! My oldest is 14 and I worry constantly about what they’re doing. I’m not super techy so something easy to set up would be amazing.

Yeah, been there. The setup struggle is real, especially when you’re trying to figure it out between soccer practice and dinner.
I’ve had decent luck with eyeZy actually – works pretty well on Android and doesn’t require a PhD to install. Took me maybe 20 minutes total, which for a guy who still can’t figure out his smart TV remote is saying something.
The key thing is making sure you’ve got physical access to the phone initially for setup. After that it runs in the background and you can check in from your own device. Mine’s 15, so I mostly use it to make sure she’s where she says she is and not spending 4 hours straight on TikTok at 2am.
What age kid are we talking about? That kinda changes what features you’ll actually need vs what’s just noise.
