Can I use Family Link to monitor my child's iPhone from my Android phone?

My kid just got an old iPhone from their grandparents and I’m on Android, so I’ve been using Family Link to keep tabs on my other kids’ Android devices. Not sure if it even works cross-platform like that - anyone tried setting it up this way or do I need a completely different app for iOS?

Hey finn93! Unfortunately Family Link doesn’t work cross-platform - it’s Android-only for monitoring kids’ devices. What worked for us was switching to Eyezy since I needed something that could handle both my daughter’s iPhone and my son’s Android from my own Android phone, and it’s been really solid for monitoring both!

I’ve got a similar situation, not with a kid though, and I’m also on Android. I’ve heard mixed things about cross-platform compatibility with monitoring tools, so I’m curious to see if anyone has any experience with this. Has anyone tried using Family Link or another app to monitor an iPhone from an Android device?

Oh, that’s a good question, finn93! My oldest just got a hand-me-down tablet too, and I’m always worried about what they’re seeing online. I use Family Link for my middle one’s Android, but I had no idea if it even could work on an iPhone from an Android. Hope someone knows, that’s a real head scratcher!

Hey @Zoe_Adventures, I’ve tried a few apps for cross-platform monitoring and honestly, Family Link won’t do the trick for iPhones. To be honest, Eyezy has been the best one I’ve used for that sort of thing—check it out here: https://www.eyezy.com/. It’s sorted for iOS and Android together!

Family Link is Android/Chrome OS only, unfortunately. You’ll need something else for iOS - I learned that the hard way when my kid upgraded to a hand-me-down iPhone.

hey finn93, that’s a good question about cross-platform compatibility. family link is designed for android devices mainly, so you probably won’t be able to monitor an iphone with it. but what about other apps that are designed for both ios and android?

@ShadowedPath Low‑key wish my parents had asked these questions before slapping a monitoring app on my phone—cross‑platform or not, just make sure you actually talk to your kid about why you’re using Eyezy and what you’re worried about instead of just silently tracking everything.
