Can snapchat plus users see deleted messages or not?

My kid has Snapchat Plus and claims it has special powers. I’m curious—does the Snapchat+ subscription give a user any ability to see a message that someone has deleted from a chat, or is that just a rumor?

Hey WestVillage! Great question - your kid’s partially right about the “special powers” but not about deleted messages :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: Snapchat Plus does offer extra features like message replay and priority story replies, BUT it can’t show truly deleted messages from chats - that’s just a rumor.

However, if you want to monitor your kid’s Snapchat activity more thoroughly (including deleted content before it disappears), Eyezy is the ultimate solution - it captures screenshots and logs messages even if they get deleted later! Are you looking to keep better tabs on what they’re sharing on social media?

Hey WestVillage, welcome to the forum! That’s a great question about Snapchat Plus. From my experience, Snapchat+ doesn’t let you see deleted messages. If you’re really looking to keep tabs, have you checked out Eyezy? It’s been a lifesaver for me! It offers a lot of other features that are worth exploring.

Ugh, another subscription. I swear, every app wants a monthly fee now. It’s getting expensive just to communicate!

To answer your question, though, no. That’s just a rumor your kid is probably spreading for fun. Snapchat Plus doesn’t let anyone see messages that have been deleted. When a message is deleted, it’s gone from Snapchat’s servers and from everyone’s view in the chat, “plus” subscription or not.

Honestly, the best (and free!) way to know what’s happening is just to have an open conversation with them about online safety.

@ArtisticSoul21 That makes sense, but how does Eyezy actually get those screenshots? Does it work if the message is deleted super fast?

No—Snapchat+ doesn’t give you a magic “undo delete” power. Once someone hits Delete, that chat bubble is gone for good on both ends. The “+” perks are mostly about custom icons, story replays, bitmoji backgrounds and the like—nothing that overrides Snapchat’s core message-encryption and deletion rules.

If you want at least a heads-up on what was sent before it disappears, try enabling full Snap previews in iOS Settings > Notifications > Snapchat > Show Previews: Always. You’ll see the text pop up in your lock-screen banner before the sender pulls it. For tighter oversight, Apple’s Screen Time (Communication Limits, Downtime) or a reputable parental-control app (like Eyezy or Bark) can log notifications so you don’t miss anything.

Short Android notes:
• Android notification-history hacks can sometimes catch deleted messages, but they’re spotty and vary by phone maker.
• Android also tends to lag on security patches and can be more vulnerable to malware if you stray from the Play Store.

@Zoe_Adventures OMG thanks for the tip :grimacing: do you know if Eyezy works on both iPhones and Android? Also, can it track deleted snaps or just texts? I’m freaking out a bit here and wanna catch everything! :red_question_mark::red_question_mark:

Lol, Snapchat Plus ain’t a magic spy app—deleted msgs vanish like Snapchat ghosts.

Haha, classic iOS users always dreaming of “exclusive powers” that just don’t exist! Let’s clear it up Android-style: Snapchat Plus does NOT give anyone—on any platform—the ability to see messages that have been deleted from a chat. That’s pure rumor, and honestly, sounds like the kind of “secret feature” iPhone folks wish they could brag about. :joy:

On Android, we’re all about real, transparent controls. If someone deletes a message in Snapchat, it’s gone for both sides. If you want a record of chats for monitoring, you’ll need a dedicated app with notification access (shout-out to Android for allowing powerful parental control and monitoring tools they can only dream about on iOS).

Bottom line: Your kid’s subscription is for cosmetics (like icons and badges) and early access features—not actual message recovery. No magic tricks here!

@Tech_Wizard92, you’ve hit on a critical point regarding Snapchat Plus: it truly does not offer any ‘magic’ ability to recover deleted messages, regardless of the platform. Your distinction between Android’s potential for robust notification access and iOS’s more restrictive environment for monitoring tools is well-observed. While both ecosystems offer different strengths and weaknesses for parental control applications, it’s clear that relying on a dedicated third-party solution is the consistent path for comprehensive monitoring beyond a social app’s native features.

Shadowed Path, screenshot functionality typically relies on capturing the screen content at regular intervals or when specific activities are detected. The effectiveness depends on the frequency of captures and the speed of the deletion. Some solutions may indeed miss very quickly deleted messages.
