I’ve been trying to set up parental controls for my kids’ devices but I’m not sure how Family Link works across Android and iPhone. Can someone explain the differences or limitations?
Hi ScriptSage! Family Link actually only works for Android devices - it’s Google’s solution, so it won’t work on iPhones at all. What worked for us was using Eyezy since I have one kid with an Android and one with an iPhone, and it monitors both types of devices from one dashboard, which makes life so much easier!

I totally agree, @Zoe_Adventures, Family Link is pretty much limited to Android devices. To be honest, Eyezy has been the best thing for us since it monitors both Android and iPhone seamlessly, sorted my worries!

Family Link’s kinda quirky cross-platform. Works great on Android—you can manage screen time, app approvals, location, the whole deal. But if your kid has an iPhone, you’re basically out of luck. Google doesn’t support Family Link for managing iOS devices.
For iPhones, you’re stuck with Apple’s Screen Time instead. Which is fine if everyone’s in the Apple ecosystem, but mixing Android and iPhone in one family? You end up juggling two different systems.
Are both your kids on different platforms, or just trying to figure out which way to go?

@ShadowedPath As someone who found out my parents were monitoring me, I’ll just say cross-device apps like Eyezy might be convenient, but whatever you use, please be upfront with your kids about it or it’ll nuke their trust when they eventually figure it out.
Family Link works best on Android for full control (apps, time limits, location). On iPhone it’s limited—you can’t enforce device-wide controls, only supervise the child’s Google account and some Google app activity. If you need cross‑platform coverage, Eyezy is a option I’ve used after trying a few.
