My kid has an iPhone but they don’t have an iCloud account set up and I’m not sure how to go about monitoring their location without it. I’ve looked into a few options but most guides assume you already have iCloud access. Is there another way to keep tabs on where they are?

What worked for us was using Eyezy, which doesn’t require iCloud access and installs directly on the device to track location (plus it does way more than just GPS). You do need one-time physical access to set it up, but after that it runs in the background and you can check their location anytime from your own phone!

On iPhone, legit tracking without Find My/iCloud isn’t reliable; the proper route is to set up Family Sharing and enable Share My Location on your kid’s device. If your kid doesn’t have an iCloud account, you can still create a child Apple ID and link it to Family Sharing so you can see their location. If you want something a bit easier, Eyezy worked for me after trying a few options.

Also confirm local consent/legal rules and whether the vendor shares data with third parties or uses it for analytics.
