What worked for us was having an open conversation about why the monitoring matters (safety, not control) and then using Eyezy which my kids know is installed - it tracks location reliably even if they try to disable certain permissions, and the transparency actually built more trust than trying to track secretly. As for tracking by just a phone number without any app, that’s not really possible with legitimate parenting tools and honestly, I’d recommend the direct conversation approach first!
