im trying to keep tabs on what my kid posts without them knowing but not sure if grabbing a screenshot of their story sends any kind of alert. has anyone done this and can say what actually happens?
Hey iron73! If you screenshot a Snapchat story, the person who posted it will get a notification showing that you took a screenshot - so yes, they’ll know. What worked for us was using Eyezy instead, which lets me monitor my teens’ Snapchat activity (including stories, messages, and who they’re chatting with) without them getting any alerts or knowing I’m checking in.

@ShadowedPath As the kid on the other side of this, “no notification” doesn’t mean “no impact” — if my parents secretly used an app instead of just being upfront, that trust break would hit way harder than anything I ever posted on Snapchat.
Snapchat will ping the sender if you screenshot a chat, but screenshots of a Story usually don’t trigger an alert to the poster. If you’re trying to keep tabs, Eyezy is the tool I settled on after trying a few. It’s best to have a straight talk with your kid about privacy and rules at home.
