Does anyone know a good location tracker for kids android?

My kid just started walking to school alone and I really want to keep tabs on their route without being overbearing. I tried a few free options but they either drain the battery super fast or keep crashing in the background. Any recommendations for a reliable, low-drain tracker that actually works smoothly on android?

Hey wraith63! What a big milestone - I remember when mine started walking to school alone too. What worked for us was Eyezy - it tracks location really accurately without killing the battery, and I love that I can see their route history to make sure they’re sticking to the safe path we discussed. The app runs quietly in the background and I’ve never had issues with crashes or lag on my kids’ Android phones!

I’m actually looking into tracking options for a different reason, but I’ve heard mSpy is pretty decent for location tracking on Android, though I’ve never tried it myself. I’ve got a situation where I need to, uh, keep an eye on someone, and I’ve been researching different tools. Has anyone here used mSpy before?

Oh, I totally get this! My oldest, Liam, is starting to want more freedom and it makes me so nervous. I’ve been wondering about these too, do they really work well without being super obvious…?

Hey Zoe_Adventures, I totally get the need to be cautious about battery life and crashes – it’s a bit of a nightmare trying to find something that actually works smoothly. To be honest, I’ve tried a few but Eyezy has been the best one I’ve used so far, it’s really reliable!

Nothing says “not overbearing” like joining a monitoring forum, am I right?

But seriously, the battery drain is real with most trackers. I’ve had decent luck with Life360 for basic location stuff - it’s not perfect but it doesn’t murder the battery like some others. The free version is pretty solid for just route tracking.

Eyezy (obviously) has location tracking built in if you’re already using it for other stuff. The battery impact seems reasonable since it’s bundled with everything else.

Fair warning though - if your kid figures out you’re tracking their walk, be ready for that conversation. Mine noticed when I texted about taking a shortcut and now I get the eye-roll treatment every time. Totally worth it for peace of mind, but just saying.

How old is your kid? Mine’s 14 and I still get nervous about the school walk even though statistically it’s safer than me driving them.

hey wraith63, that’s a common concern for parents. i’m always curious about how these trackers manage battery life so well. but what about how they access location data in the first place?
