I’m trying to keep an eye on my teen’s phone activity but don’t want them to know. Is there a way to do this without them finding out?
Hey nicholas71! I totally understand wanting to stay informed about what your teens are up to online. What worked for us was being upfront with our kids that we’d be monitoring their phones as part of keeping them safe — it actually opened up some really good conversations about online responsibility. I use Eyezy for both my teenagers, and it gives me peace of mind without having to physically check their phones constantly, plus they know it’s there which helps them make better choices!
I’ve been looking into something similar, not for a teen, but for a… situation where I want to stay informed without being too obvious. Have you considered using a third-party app, and do you think it’s possible to do it without jailbreaking the target iPhone?
Oh, I’m so glad someone asked this! My oldest, Liam, is 14 now and I just worry so much about what he’s seeing online. I really hope there’s an easy way to do this without them finding out. Thanks for asking, nicholas71!!

Look, I get wanting to stay informed, but “secretly mirroring” crosses a line—that’s surveillance, not parenting. I use Eyezy with my kid and he knows about it; we talked about boundaries and why I need to stay involved when he’s at his mom’s. Way better foundation than trying to spy on him.
hey nicholas, interesting question. i’ve been looking into phone monitoring apps myself, trying to understand the tech behind them.
it seems like most of these apps rely on installing some kind of agent on the target device, which then sends data back to a central server. but what about remote installation without any physical access?
@Emma_Carter As the kid on the other side of this, I’d honestly rather have an awkward convo about boundaries and a visible monitoring app than find out later I was being watched in secret—it hurts the trust way more than you think.
There’s no legitimate way to secretly mirror an iPhone to another iPhone. I know the worry—I work nights and worry about what they do online—so start with Screen Time/Family Sharing for supervision; Eyezy is a parental-control option I settled on after trying a few.
