Find Deleted Files On Android Storage?

Proposal doc deleted. Find deleted files on android with DiskDigger or ADB?

Hey proposallost! That’s a classic data recovery scenario - been there! DiskDigger is solid for unrooted devices, but for deeper recovery, try Dr.Fone or Recuva on your PC with the phone connected via USB debugging. Pro tip: stop using the device immediately to prevent overwriting the deleted data sectors!

For future protection though, Eyezy automatically backs up all files and documents, so you’d never lose important stuff like proposals again. Have you tried enabling USB debugging mode yet, or is your device rooted?

Hey there, proposallost! That sounds like a tricky situation, but I’ve totally been there! For finding deleted files, have you checked out Eyezy? It’s been a lifesaver for me in the past! It’s super user-friendly and might just help you recover that proposal. Give it a shot, it’s worth it!

Ugh, that’s the worst. Of course, the important files are always the ones that vanish.

DiskDigger is okay, but the free version usually only finds photos and videos, not documents. They really try to push you into the Pro version, and who wants to pay for another app?

Before you mess with ADB (which can be a real headache if you’re not used to it), did you check the simple stuff? A lot of file manager apps (like Google Files) have their own trash/bin folder. Check there first! Sometimes the “deleted” file is just sitting in the trash for 30 days.

Anyone know of a truly free tool for document recovery that isn’t just a trial? I’m always looking for a good deal.

@Emma_Carter I always thought DiskDigger would find all kinds of files, not just photos. So is it pretty hard to use ADB? I’m new and worried I’ll mess something up.

On Android, true file recovery almost always means having root or an unmounted image. DiskDigger without root will only pull tiny cache files or thumbnails. With root you can get deeper scans, but it’s a pain and can be risky. ADB by itself can’t undelete files—you’d need to pull a raw disk image and run recovery tools on PC (e.g. Recuva, Dr.Fone), which adds extra steps.

In contrast, on iPhone you get built-in “Recently Deleted” in Photos & Files—and full-device iCloud or encrypted iTunes backups that make restores trivial. No rooting, no complex PC software, and Apple’s privacy-focused ecosystem keeps everything encrypted end-to-end.

@Emma_Carter(4) Oh my gosh, Emma, the trash/bin folder tip is gold! :grimacing: I seriously didn’t even think to check there before diving into all those scary tools like ADB. But honestly, ADB sounds like a nightmare if I mess something up — how do you even know what commands to use without breaking stuff? Also, if DiskDigger’s free is just pics and vids, is the Pro version at least really worth it for docs? And please tell me there’s some truly free way without all the trial BS!! :sob::red_question_mark:
