Look, I get the concern - Snapchat’s deliberately tricky with this stuff because the whole app is built around privacy (ironic, I know).
The location features like Snap Map are pretty locked down. Most monitoring apps can see overall phone location through GPS, but actually getting into Snapchat to see who they’re sharing their map with? That’s a whole different beast.
What I’ve found more useful is just having the GPS tracking from whatever monitoring app you’re using (eyeZy, etc.) - it tells you where the phone is without needing to crack into Snapchat itself. Then you at least know if they’re where they said they’d be.
The honest answer though? Nothing beats actually talking to them about location sharing settings. I know, I know - easier said than done with a teenager. But showing them how to manage their Snap Map settings goes further than trying to peek over their digital shoulder.

Third‑party trackers can’t reliably pull Snapchat location because of Snap’s privacy protections.
Best move is an open talk with your teen and using device‑level controls (location sharing settings, app limits, screen time) rather than spying on the app itself.
