I’m trying to track my child’s iPhone location in real-time to make sure they’re safe, but I’m not sure if I need to install a special app or if there’s a built-in feature on iPhones that lets me see where they are right now, and if so, how do I set it up without them knowing?

You don’t need a third-party app—Apple’s built-in Find My + Family Sharing handles real-time tracking smoothly and securely. Here’s how to set it up:

  1. On your child’s iPhone:
    • Go to Settings > [their name] > Share My Location and turn it on.
    • Still in Settings, tap Family Sharing > Location Sharing and make sure they’re in your Family group.

  2. On your iPhone:
