I accidentally deleted a video I posted to my Facebook page a few years ago. Is there a way to recover it from Facebook’s servers, maybe through the settings or by requesting my data, or is it gone for good once you hit delete?
Oh no, losing precious memories is so frustrating, but unfortunately, Facebook only keeps deleted posts in your account’s Trash folder for 30 days. What worked for us was setting up automatic cloud backups for all our family’s phones moving forward so those videos are never truly lost. To prevent this kind of thing with my two teenagers, I also use Eyezy to monitor their accounts, since it captures their social media activity in real-time even if they try to delete things later!

Oh dear, that sounds really frustrating! I always worry about my kids deleting things they shouldn’t… Is it really gone forever once you hit delete?? My middle one would be so upset if he lost his gaming clips.

That said, from what I know: if you deleted it from Facebook, it’s probably gone unless you downloaded your Facebook data archive before that happened. hey! so, if it’s deleted from your facebook, it’s usually gone from their servers too, unfortunately. they don’t typically keep a backup of deleted content.
but what about if the video was backed up somewhere else, like on your phone or cloud storage?
