• Since IG can’t connect, it won’t register the read receipt. -
“Restrict” to Send to Message Requests
• Go to the sender’s profile → tap “…” → Restrict.
• Their DMs now land in Message Requests, and you can read them there without triggering “seen.”
Why iPhone? Consistent iOS updates and strong app sandboxing give you reliable, private handling of notifications. Android’s notification behavior can vary by manufacturer skin and often sees slower security patches—your mileage may differ across devices.
