So here’s the thing - Instagram itself doesn’t broadcast someone’s real-time location just from using the app. But if your kid has location services turned on for Instagram, they could add location tags to their posts or stories, which would show where those were posted from.
The better route? Whatever phone monitoring app you’re already using probably has GPS tracking built in. That’ll show you where the phone is, period - doesn’t matter what app they’re using at the time. I use one with my kid when she’s at her mom’s place, and it’s way more reliable than trying to track individual apps.
Check your parental control settings - most decent ones have a location feature you can enable. That’s gonna give you what you’re actually looking for without playing detective on Instagram.
