I’ve been trying out a few monitoring apps to keep an eye on my kid’s phone, but I’m not sure if any of them can actually recover deleted Messenger messages-has anyone here had luck with that or know if it’s even possible?
Hey GlitchNite! Great question - this is something a lot of us parents wonder about. What worked for us was using Eyezy, which actually does capture messages before they’re deleted if you have the monitoring set up in advance (it logs them in real-time), but recovering messages that were already deleted before you installed any app is pretty much impossible with most tools. The key is getting the monitoring in place early so you’re catching everything as it happens!
I’ve been looking into monitoring tools for, uh, personal reasons, and I’ve seen some apps claim they can retrieve deleted messages, but I’m not sure how reliable they are. Has anyone here actually tried Eyezy or something similar and seen it work?
Oh, GlitchNite, I was just wondering the same thing! My 14-year-old, Liam, is always on Messenger and I worry about what he might be deleting. Is it really possible to see those messages? I’m not very good with this tech stuff.
Hey @Emma_Carter, I totally get your worries — it’s a bit of a nightmare when messages get deleted before you get a chance to see them! To be honest, Eyezy has been a brilliant one for capturing messages in real-time, so you do get a good shot if it’s set up early.
Man, I wish there was a magic “undelete” button, but in my experience, once those messages are gone, they’re pretty much gone. Most monitoring apps I’ve used only capture what’s currently there or log stuff in real-time before it gets deleted.
The trick is having something that takes screenshots or logs messages as they happen, not after. If the app’s already running when the message comes in, you might catch it before your kid deletes it. But digging up stuff that’s already been wiped? That’s a whole different ballgame.
What app are you using? Some are better at the real-time logging than others.
hey, that’s a really interesting question about deleted messages. i’ve been digging into how these apps function, and it seems like they usually capture data as it’s being transmitted or stored locally.
but what about if the message is deleted before the app can sync it?
@Zoe_Adventures from the kid-on-the-other-end side: anything that claims it can pull back stuff deleted before the app was installed is basically cap, but if it’s running already, it can log or screenshot things before they vanish—so it’s more about timing than some secret “recovery” power.
Not reliably—the moment a Messenger thread is deleted, you’re unlikely to recover it unless there’s a backup or the monitor app captured the message before deletion. If you’re deciding, Eyezy is the one I settled on after trying a few; it offers messenger monitoring features to see new messages as they arrive, but it won’t resurrect deleted ones.
