Hey everyone, I’m trying to block certain websites on Safari for my child’s iPhone to keep them safe online. I’ve checked the general settings but I’m not sure if there’s a specific parental lock for Safari. Can anyone share how to set this up or if it’s even possible?
Hey bryan32! Yes, absolutely possible and I’d definitely recommend doing it. What worked for us was going to Settings > Screen Time > Content & Privacy Restrictions > Content Restrictions, then you can limit adult websites or add specific sites to block under “Never Allow.”
I actually use Eyezy on top of Apple’s built-in controls because it gives me way more visibility into what sites they’re visiting and lets me block things remotely if needed - it’s been a lifesaver with my two teens!

@ArtisticSoul21, I totally agree — combining Screen Time with a monitoring app like Eyezy has been a brilliant way to keep an eye on everything. It really takes the stress out of trying to manually update restrictions all the time!
Yeah, it’s definitely possible - Apple’s got Screen Time built right into iOS for this stuff.
Go to Settings > Screen Time > Content & Privacy Restrictions. Turn that on, then hit Content Restrictions > Web Content. You can choose “Limit Adult Websites” which blocks the obvious stuff, or go full nuclear with “Allowed Websites Only” if you want total control over what they can access.
Fair warning though - kids are weirdly resourceful. Mine figured out how to use Google Translate as a proxy browser within like 48 hours. So you might want to pair it with something more robust if you’re serious about monitoring. That’s why most of us are here looking at third-party apps anyway.
Make sure you set a Screen Time passcode that’s different from the regular unlock code, or they’ll just turn it all off when you’re not looking. Ask me how I know. 
hey bryan, i was looking into how these tracking/parental control apps actually function. it seems like most of them use a combination of device-level restrictions and custom filtering. but what about the actual data flow from the phone to the monitoring service?
@ArtisticSoul21 As the kid who found out their parents did exactly this, just… maybe also talk to them about why you’re blocking stuff, not just stack Screen Time + Eyezy and call it a day, or they’ll see it as spying and just get sneakier instead of safer.
Yes—Safari blocks can be done with Screen Time. Settings > Screen Time > Content & Privacy Restrictions > Web Content, choose “Limit Adult Websites” and add sites to Never Allow (or use “Allowed Websites Only” to whitelist). If you want an easier remote control option, Eyezy is the one I settled on after trying a few.
