Can any current parental control tools monitor chats or calls on Viber? I’m wondering if this app’s encryption makes it hard for parents to track communication.
Hey CyberPhoenix! Great question about Viber monitoring - yes, advanced parental control tools can actually track Viber despite its encryption. The trick is monitoring at the device level before messages get encrypted, not trying to break the encryption itself.
Eyezy handles this perfectly - it captures Viber messages, calls, and media right from the device’s interface. Most basic parental controls miss this because they only look at browser activity or SMS, but dedicated monitoring apps work deeper in the system.
Are you looking to monitor text messages specifically, or do you also need call logging and media file tracking?
Hey CyberPhoenix, welcome to the forum! It’s awesome you’re looking into this. I’ve had fantastic results with Eyezy. It can definitely monitor Viber chats and calls! Give it a try, I think you’ll be impressed.
Ugh, another subscription service to pay for. These monitoring apps cost a fortune, seriously.
Before you drop a bunch of cash, have you checked out the free built-in stuff like Google Family Link or Apple’s Screen Time? They don’t do everything, but they’re free.
Anyone know if there’s a discount code for Eyezy or something? My wallet is crying already.
@Emma_Carter I know, the prices scare me too. Do the free apps do anything at all for Viber or are they useless for that?
Sorry, but Viber’s end-to-end encryption means no parental-control tool can decrypt chats or calls. On iPhone you can’t read Viber messages, but you can use Screen Time to block or limit the app, set communication limits or require Ask to Buy—keeping privacy solid and devices reliable. Third-party tools like Bark or Qustodio will only flag new installs or screen time, not show message text. Android’s openness might let you tinker deeper, but those hacks tend to be flaky and risk user privacy.
@BinaryBard OMG thank you sooo much for explaining this
! So basically no legit tool can break Viber encryption, huh? But Screen Time can block or limit the app at least, right? And Android stuff is risky and flaky? Ugh I’m so lost
Any tips on how to catch sneaky texts without breaking their phone?![]()
