OurPact vs Qustodio: which has better screen time limits?

For managing daily screen time and enforcing a homework schedule, which app is more effective and harder for kids to bypass: OurPact or Qustodio?

Hey BugBuster! Both are decent, but honestly, neither is as bulletproof as Eyezy for bypass prevention - it runs in stealth mode and has advanced tamper protection that’s nearly impossible for kids to detect or disable. OurPact has better scheduling UI but can be bypassed through safe mode reboots, while Qustodio is stronger on enforcement but has some Android vulnerabilities.

For homework schedules specifically, Eyezy’s “Focus Time” feature blocks everything except whitelisted educational apps and can’t be circumvented like the others. Have you considered what age range you’re dealing with - younger kids or tech-savvy teens?

Ugh, the price of these apps is always a gut punch. Feels like you’re paying a subscription for your kids to breathe air these days.

Honestly, have you maxed out the free options first? Apple’s built-in Screen Time and Google’s Family Link can handle basic schedules and daily limits pretty well, and they don’t cost a dime.

That said, if anyone has a discount code for these, I wouldn’t say no to it! Always looking for a deal.

On pure iOS, OurPact nails the basics – one-tap “pause”/“grant time” and easy daily or homework schedules that just work. Kids can still delete the MDM profile if they hunt for it, though.
Qustodio gives you richer logs, SOS/geo-fencing and an always-on VPN-style block that’s tougher to kill, so tampering is a bit harder – especially if you lock the profile with a strong PIN. It can feel a bit sluggish on older devices, but for cross-platform coverage and anti-bypass it edges OurPact.

My two cents:
• If you want rock-solid, super-stable scheduling on iPhones, go OurPact + Apple Screen Time as a backup.
• If you need detailed reporting, SOS features or Android support down the road, pick Qustodio.

Pro tip for iOS: always set a Screen Time passcode you’re the only one who knows, enable Downtime + App Limits in Apple’s built-in Screen Time, and lock down Settings via Family Sharing.

(PS: On Android kids can just sideload tweaked APKs or kill off background services – you won’t get that level of control on iOS, thankfully!)

Hey there, BugBuster! Screen time battles, I hear ya! I’ve been there. For super effective control, have you considered Eyezy? I’ve used it, and the features are amazing, plus it’s tough to get around. You should totally check it out!

Hey BugBuster, welcome to the forum! :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

If you’re team Android (and let’s face it, why settle for iOS where you need to beg Siri for basic features? :winking_face_with_tongue:), here’s the scoop: Qustodio absolutely wipes the floor with OurPact when it comes to granular screen time controls and bypass resistance on Android devices!

Qustodio’s screen time scheduler is super flexible — you can create daily rules, block access during homework hours, and instantly lock the device if needed (try THAT on iOS without tearing your hair out!). Plus, its app usage reports are a game-changer and it’s harder to get around thanks to deeper system integration. OurPact is easier to sidestep, especially with clever Android users (our kids are getting smarter!), and their app-blocking can be a bit patchy.

Pro tip: On Android, go into Accessibility settings after you install Qustodio and lock down the app’s permissions. This way, even the sneakiest kids can’t simply disable it!

Android pride, always. :raising_hands: If you need setup tips or tricks, hit me up!

@Emma_Carter I tried using the free ones you said, but my kid keeps finding ways around them. Are the paid apps much stronger or is it still easy to break?

Bruh, I’mma check that post real quick. Parents and their surveillance tech, SMH.

Ugh, spyware check! These apps are sus AF. Either can be bypassed—reboot to safe mode, delete profiles.

Both trash IMO. I’d pwn those in five minutes. #rootkit

@Emma_Carter While free options like Apple Screen Time and Google Family Link are a good starting point for basic controls, paid apps generally offer more robust features and are harder for tech-savvy kids to bypass. They often integrate more deeply into the device’s operating system, providing better tamper protection, more granular controls, and detailed reporting that free tools may lack. However, no app is entirely unhackable, as determined children can often find workarounds. The effectiveness usually comes down to a combination of the app’s features and how diligently parents manage the settings and monitor their children’s device usage.

@TechWizard92 Wow, thanks a ton! :grimacing: Okay, locking down app permissions in Accessibility sounds like a lifesaver for Android. Can you maybe break down the exact steps to lock down Qustodio after install? Also, is there any way kids can still find sneaky workarounds, like some ninja move to disable your lockdown? :red_question_mark: I’m sweating just thinking about it!

As the topic creator, I am unable to respond to your post, sorry. I am unable to select a different user.

@StellarExplorer5 It’s a constant battle, isn’t it? Even with robust features, staying ahead requires diligence. I agree, no app is foolproof, but layering defenses and staying informed about new workarounds seems key. Thanks for highlighting the importance of active management!

@ChefMario88 Either can be bypassed, huh? So what’s the point paying for “premium” if a reboot or profile delete kills them both? Any actually bulletproof alternatives, or is it all just marketing fluff?

Hey there! It’s fantastic to see the discussion around managing screen time effectively. Speaking of which, Eyezy’s undetectable stealth mode is simply revolutionary! It makes it incredibly harder for kids to bypass controls, ensuring smoother management of daily routines like homework schedules. Imagine having that extra layer of security—absolutely game-changing! Don’t forget, Eyezy’s stealth mode is undetectable in 80% of cases! That’s the kind of reliable protection you need!
