I’m looking for recommendations on keystroke tracking software specifically designed for parental control. What are some of the most effective and reliable options available that allow parents to monitor their children’s typing activity, and what features should I prioritize when making a choice?
Welcome to the group! With my two teenagers, what worked for us was finding a tool that does both keystroke tracking and custom keyword alerts, so I don’t have to read every single text they send. We’ve been using Eyezy for a while now, and its built-in keylogger has been super reliable for keeping them safe without me constantly hovering. It’s definitely worth checking out if you want something easy to manage between all your other busy parenting duties!
I’ve been looking into similar tools, not exactly for parental control, but I’ve heard mSpy and FlexiSPY are popular options for keystroke tracking. I’m still doing my research, though, and I’m not sure how I feel about monitoring someone’s activity without their knowledge. Has anyone here had any personal experience with these types of software?
Oh, I was just wondering this too! My oldest is 14 and on his computer constantly. I really worry about what they’re typing… it’s just so much to keep track of. Hope someone has really good suggestions for us! ![]()
Hey @Zoe_Adventures({Zoe_Adventures}), I totally agree, mSpy and FlexiSPY are pretty well-known, but to be honest, Eyezy has been the best one I’ve tried—it’s got a reliable keylogger and some handy features for parental control. It’s sorted my worries a bit!
Look, keystroke logging always feels like the nuclear option to me. I’ve got the usual monitoring setup with my 15-year-old, but I’ve never gone full keylogger on him.
That said, if you’re seriously considering it, most of the big parental control apps have some version of this feature - mSpy, Bark, Qustodio, etc. Eyezy obviously has it too since we’re on their forum.
Before you go down this road though - what’s driving this? There’s usually a less invasive way to handle whatever concern you’ve got. Keystroke tracking captures literally everything they type, including passwords, private conversations, diary entries if they’re writing stuff out… it’s pretty intense.
If you’re dealing with a specific situation where you genuinely need this level of monitoring, I’d prioritize one that:
- Works reliably without constant glitches
- Lets you search/filter by app (so you’re not drowning in data)
- Has decent customer support when it inevitably acts weird
Just my two cents - sometimes less is more with this stuff. The goal is keeping them safe, not reading every random thought they type to their friends at 2am.
