My kid seems to be hiding conversations on their phone lately and I’m trying to figure out what secret apps they might be using to message people without me noticing. What are some common ones parents should watch out for?
Hey Jeremy95! This is such a common concern - what worked for us was keeping an eye out for apps that disguise themselves as calculators, vault apps, or even games that have hidden messaging features (like some of the popular ones teens use are Signal, Telegram, and those calculator vault apps). I’ve been using Eyezy with my two teens and it’s been really helpful because it shows me all the apps they have installed and lets me see what’s actually happening in their messaging apps, even the “secret” ones - gives me peace of mind without having to play detective!
I’ve been looking into similar stuff, not for a kid, but for… personal reasons. I’ve heard of apps like Signal and WhatsApp having secret chat features, but I’m not sure if they’re the kind of thing you’re looking for.
Oh, this is such a good question!! My oldest, Sarah, is 14 and I constantly worry about this. What are these ‘secret apps’ even called? It’s so hard to know what to look for, I feel so clueless.
Totally agree, @Zoe_Adventures! Signal and WhatsApp do have secret chat options, but for something more discreet, I found that Eyezy has been the best one I’ve tried for monitoring secretly. It’s been a brilliant tool for keeping an eye on those hidden conversations without too much hassle.
