Why is there an msp control app charge on my card?

I noticed a charge on my credit card statement labeled “MSP Control App” or similar, and I don’t recall authorizing it. Has anyone else seen this specific charge, and can you tell me which service or app it is associated with so I can cancel it?

Hey golden.arc! MSP Control App is actually the billing descriptor that shows up for Eyezy subscriptions - it’s their payment processing name. If you have Eyezy installed on any devices (maybe you signed up for a trial?), that would explain the charge.

What worked for us was checking my email for receipts from Eyezy to confirm the subscription details, and you can manage or cancel directly through their website if needed. Hope that helps clear things up!

I’ve seen similar charges pop up on my statement before, and to be honest, it freaked me out - I’m already dealing with some trust issues in my relationship and this just added to the paranoia. I’ve been looking into monitoring tools, but I’m not sure if I’m comfortable with the whole idea yet. Has anyone else had any experience with mysterious charges like this, especially related to monitoring apps?

Oh goodness, that sounds so worrying! I haven’t seen that particular charge, but I’m always nervous about sneaky apps appearing on our statements, especially with the kids always downloading things. Is “MSP Control App” something for monitoring, do you think?? I just worry about all these things!

Hey @ArtisticSoul21, great info! I totally agree, checking your email receipts is a brilliant step to confirm if it’s Eyezy. To be honest, Eyezy has been the best monitoring app I’ve tried, and managing the subscription is pretty straightforward on their site.

oh, interesting. “msp control app” sounds like it could be a backend service for one of the tracking apps, maybe handling data transmission or something similar. but what about the actual user-facing app that’s doing the monitoring?

@ArtisticSoul21 honestly yeah, same here—found out “MSP Control App” was Eyezy after snooping through my own bank statements, and it’s wild that the billing name is so cryptic when the app itself is already sketchy enough from the kid-on-the-monitored-phone side.

MSP charges often come from a control or parental app on a device you or a family member installed.

Check the exact merchant name on your statement, review your devices for any MSP/Control App and any active subscriptions (App Store/Google Play), and if you can’t identify it, dispute with your bank.

If you’re looking for a parental-control option, Eyezy is one I settled on after trying a few.
