How to See Someone’s Location History on an iPhone?

Melissa E. Henry

Your child is due home from school. You glance at the clock — it’s past the usual time, but they’re not here. Are they running late? Chatting with friends? Staying after class? Stopping at a store on the way home? There are lots of normal explanations, but our minds often jump to worst-case scenarios.

Why isn’t your child answering their phone? Where are they right now? Are they safe? Every parent has felt this surge of worry when their child is late and unreachable. We completely understand that feeling and want to help ease your mind.

That’s why, in this article, we’ll explore 3 methods to see someone’s location history on an iPhone. We’ll also discuss the Eyezy parental control app, which is designed to make parenting less stressful. Let’s dive in!

Table Of Contents

Method 1: The Eyezy Parental Control App

Eyezy is a popular monitoring app that makes life easier for parents. One feature alone can replace countless “Where are you?” texts, missed calls, and constant worry. And, of course, that feature is location tracking.

The app shows your child’s exact location and a detailed history of their whereabouts — including coordinates, addresses, map pins, plus dates and timestamps. So, you get a complete iPhone location history in one place.

What’s more, you can even set custom zones on the map (geofences) — like school, Grandma’s house, or the gym — and receive notifications when they enter or leave. You can also customize zones that you consider potentially dangerous for complete control.

And of course, Eyezy runs discreetly in the background, so your child won’t know they’re being monitored. It’s especially useful for parents of teens.

How Do You Get Started With Eyezy?

Go to the Eyezy website → select your subscription plan and pay for it → get the installation instructionsinstall the app. That’s all

So, do you need to blow up your child’s phone and worry about where they are now? No! After all, all the information about their location history on an iPhone is now on your dashboard, just a few clicks away. These days, having answers at your fingertips means fewer what-ifs and a calmer mind — and that’s exactly what Eyezy provides.

By the way, location tracking is just one small part of what Eyezy can do. It’s an all-in-one monitoring app that offers everything from message viewing to call listening.

Here’s the quick recap:

Method 2: The Find My Feature for iPhone users

If you’re an Apple user, you’ve got Find My built right into your phone. And it’s honestly pretty handy for parents. You can see where your kid’s device is on a map right away — whether it’s their phone, iPad, or even their AirPods.

Here’s how it works:

You’ll need to set up Family Sharing first and add your family members. This basically creates a shared group where all your devices are connected, so you can see each other’s locations in real-time.

The setup is pretty quick. Open Settings, click the “Family” tab, and send invites to your kids or partner. Then, go to the “Find My” section and turn on “Share My Location.” Everyone else in the family should do the same on their devices. That’s all.

Knowing where your child is right now definitely makes parenthood a little less stressful. But sometimes, that’s not enough. You might need to know where they were earlier — like a few hours ago. This is especially helpful when you get that feeling your kid isn’t being completely honest with you. Which brings up another question:

Can You See Someone’s Location History on Find My iPhone?

Short answer: not really. Find My shows you where your child is now (or where their device was last seen), but it doesn’t keep a detailed history. You can’t scroll back and see where they were during the day or the week.

But, if you only need to know where they are right now, Find My works great.

Method 3: Sharing Location via Google Maps

Another way to keep tabs on your kid is through Google Maps. It is very similar to Find My, but the nice thing is that it works on both iOS and Android devices.

How to Set Up Location Sharing?

You’ll need your child’s phone for a minute. Open Google Maps (it’s installed by default), tap their profile picture in the top right corner, and go to Location Sharing. Then, hit the “Share Location” button, and here’s the important part — pick “Until you turn this off” instead of “For 1 hour.”

Last step: find your name in their contacts and send yourself the link. Save it somewhere, so you can check where they are whenever you want. And the last question:

Can You Check Recent Locations on an iPhone With This Method?

Nope. Just like Find My, Google Maps only shows you where they are right now. You can’t go back and see where they were earlier.

And here is the quick recap:

Last known location – ☑️
Complete whereabouts history –✖️
Full phone monitoring – ✖️
Subscription required – ✖️

Which Method Is the Best?

All three methods are very effective, but Eyezy clearly stands out. With this app, you can access your child’s iPhone location history on iCloud — exactly what you came here for. Plus, it’s completely anonymous and undetectable.

The built-in options are fine for basics, but Eyezy is a full monitoring app. You get way more than just location tracking, like:

  • Seeing messages from all their social media apps
  • Listening to recorded phone calls
  • Checking what they’ve been browsing and tracking what they type
  • Having access to the gallery

The thing is, when it comes to keeping your kid safe, knowing where they are isn’t always enough. Sometimes you need the bigger picture. That’s what Eyezy gives you.
